EOTD: Classic Black smokey eye Tutorial using the Wet n wild coloricon trio in spoiled brat

EOTD: Classic Black smokey eye using the Wet n wild coloricon trio in spoiled brat

Hey “BD beauties”!

Today is going to be another EOTD post and I decide to do a black Smokey eye with a twist. A classic black Smokey eye is something you need to know how to create since it’s timeless and won’t make you think ‘what was I thinking there’ when you look back at pictures. Dark eye makeup should only be worn at night and nothing better than a Smokey eye. For today’s look I have used the wet n wild coloricon trio in shade ‘Spoiled brat’ (Review HERE).

Wet n wild coloricon Trio in shade Spoiled Brat Review, Swatches and Photos

Hey “BD beauties”!

Wet n wild cosmetics have been raved to be manufacturing the best eye shadows from the drugstore. The line that does it is called the wet n wild coloricon line. The wet n wild coloricon palettes do not come with shadows that are hit n miss. They have a very consistent quality and pigmentation which is why they are considered great. Ever since I tried their greed palette, (Review HERE) I have literally fallen in love. Today I’m going to review the trio called spoiled brat no 336.

Hey “BD beauties”

This is going to be a review of the Wet n wild colour icon palette in ‘greed’. Now if you’re aware of the makeup industry you should defiantly know this! These came out as the most pigmented eye shadows in the drugstore and were comparable to Mac. This has been the palette I have been reaching towards a lot this past couple of months. Read on to know why.

Cost $4.99 for 7g of eye shadows

What does wet n wild say about this palette?

All Palettes provide all-day color that is crease resistant. Comes with 3 matte & 3 highly-pigmented effect shades that are sure to please the makeup minimalist and enthusiast alike.

My experience with this product

I kind of already knew what I was expecting as I read tons of amazing reviews on blogs before hand and 99% of them loved it and raved about the great pigmentation of this shades. And yes the pigmentation is mind-blowing! I feel like they a little better than stila eye shadows which are crazy comparing their price points. However there is one thing I have found not so good which is that the shimmery shades are a lot powdery and don’t show up much on the lids as opposed to the matte shades! I LOVE the matte black on this. I have a thing for pigmented matte black eye shadows so this is great.

Packaging is great and good quality. The lid snaps perfectly and there is a mini instruction booklet at the back of the palette which I kind of never knew until I was writing this review but that’s always good to have. This palette comes with two brushes one which is a sponge applicator and other is a brush which I believe is to blend.

The palette ‘Greed’ is a perfect neutral palette for blacks and greys. There is another palette with browns too if that’s your type. On the left side all the shades are matte and on the right they are all shimmery. You get two brow bone shades which you can use depending on your skin colour and lovely lid shades, the shimmery one can e used to highlight your inner corners and of course the matte black which can do so much.

What’s great about this palette?
  • High pigmentation
  • Good shade selection
  • Have two types of applicators
  • Good packaging
  • Has a mini booklet

What’s not so great?
  • Shimmery shades aren’t the best

Overall verdict

Review and swatches: Wet n wild Mega Last lip colour in the shade 'Rose bud' no.904B

Hey “BD beauties”!

I recently showed a lovely rosy shade of lipstick by wet n wild called rose bud (904B) which is from the famous matte line in my 5 lipstick shades I love tag which you can read HERE. I have to say this shade is my most favourite lipstick at the moment in every way I can describe a good lipstick.

So today’s review is of the Wet n wild matte lipstick in the shade rose bud ($2.75). This is the perfect rosy shade for medium to dark complexions. The formulation of these lipsticks are a tad it dry but nothing too crazy making them unbearable. I have allot of great things to say about this so read on to know more!

What does the brand say about this product?

Lips take center stage! This 4-hour, longwearing lip color leaves a semi-matte, crème finish in one stroke. Glides on easily with rich, velvety color that doesn't cake, feather, or bleed. Made with hydrating skin-care ingredients: Hyaluronic Microspheres provide extraordinary adhesion to lips, an exclusive polymer complex offers cushion-like feel and texture, and natural marine plant extracts Coenzyme Q10 and Vitamins A & E help smooth lips.

My experience with this product

The shade rose bud should be best described as a darker tone of a rosy shade more suitable for medium to darker complexions. You can however use it with sight dabbing motions to get a lighter colour payoff. The formulation of this lipstick is slightly on the drier side but a quick fix with lip balm underneath it will make it just fine. One thing I noticed because of the drier texture of the lipstick is that it has a staining effect on my lips and particularly with this shade; it leaves a lovely natural plumped up shade behind once it fades away.

Another thing I have to point out is that lipsticks with matte formulations are generally drier as opposed to ones with a glossy finish. The colour stays on for about a good 4 hours before it becomes patchy when I have to reapply but the patchiness isn’t crazy because it stains like I said before. One thing I hate about this lipstick is the packaging. It does look pretty and sleek but it doesn’t function right. I feel like the twisting part is flimsy and also the lipstick doesn’t twist in completely thus you might end up with the accident where you might stab the bullet with the lid. One more thing I do not like in the packaging category is that the name of the lipstick for example rose bud isn’t stated underneath the tube along with the numbers instead its printed on the plastic wrapping which you throw of as you unwrap the new tube which is annoying!

I do like the fact that you can see the shade through the lid which is so much easy when you have a lot of lipsticks to choose through. I recommend this particular shade for an everyday colour but better.

May favourites!

Hey “BD beauties”!

I know it’s been a while since I have put out a post but that’s because I was busy with some other commitments in the weekends. I was pretty late with my monthly favourites last time and seems like its better timing for this month! I discovered many new products during the month of May and many of which I’m yet to try but a few of them I have changed opinions! OH and btw i just joined instagram so follow me HERE

1 Natural looking falsies from eBay
I do love dramatic lashes but lately i have found myself turning to natural lashes with a really thin lash band. These I got from eBay for about 2 dollars and they are perfect! You can stack two pairs and make the lashes fuller as well. Will definitely re purchase these :)

2 Freeman Papaya heat styling spray (REVIEW HERE)
Basically this is a heat protectant in fact it’s my first and only heat protectant and I have not even finished it yet! This has a lovely tropical smell to it and does wonders for my hair! I find myself using this even with damp hair as a leave in.

3 Elf liquid lipstick in cherry tart
I have been loving elf products but this one is really my deal this past month. It’s a liquid lipstick with a minty smell to it. I do not like these twist and apply kind of packaging but I do love the product! The shade is a kind that looks like your lips have been bitten :)

4 Clinique High impact mascara (REVIEW HERE)
I got this sample size with my Clinique all in one color palette and it seems to e lasting for a long time now! I love how it volumizes and lengthens my lashes without clumping whatsoever.

5 NYX eye shadow base in skin tone.
I hauled this product HERE. This is a dupe for macs painterly paint pot and works great as an eye primer and also to neutralise your lids. This has replaced my elf eyelid primer the past month!
