I hauled a few items from Blanc to Noir a few months back and I picked up an NYX lipstick assuming it is a perfect nude shade for me but it’s a major fail.

This is a review of the NYX lipstick in the shade LSS544 HERMES ( $4 for 4g of product)

What does NYX say about this product?

NYX Extra Creamy Round Lipstick is our classic lipstick for all occasions. The mineral-based emollient formula offers a beautiful velvet texture, saturated color and it resists wear and smudging. It’s your go-to lipstick. From Pure Nude to Pink Lyric to Chic Red, Round Lipstick is available in a jaw-dropping variety of shades.

My experience with this product

Many bloggers have raved about these round lipsticks for how cheap they are and the major variety of shades. But I feel like there are some points about this lipstick that can turn off how great they are. The scent is a definite no for me it smells too scented and extremely floral I’m not sure if all the tubes are scented like this but this is a major turn off for those who are very much vulnerable to scents with their makeup.

The lipstick is formulated extremely smooth and creamy and is very moisturizing. This fact is the only thing I love about this product. I really started hating this lipstick when the bullet literally melted and broke off. I tried fixing it back with flame but it still kept falling off.

The shade HERMES is a nude but for dusky skin tone girls. It looks really crazy like the old 70’s trend with extremely dark nudes on fair skin tones. It’s definitely not an appealing shade for light to medium skin tones. One thing I did love about this lipstick is that there is a swatch of the shade below the lipstick which makes it really easy to see the shade in the tube.

What’s not so great?

Lipstick formulation is too creamy to the point the bullet melts and breaks
The scent is just too over powering

Overall verdict

Although I didn’t have a good experience with this particular shade, I’m eager to try more shades from this line because of all the other attractive shades available. This is a lesson for always going towards nudes!
