  • Choosing the right skin care product: this is vital to go along with any treatment also keep in mind that a good skincare doesn't mean something that treats your skin but something that can gently cleanse your skin without irritating it.

Hey “BD beauties”!

We all have gone on Google searching for home remedies for acne and how to clear acne when we get fed up of trying various products claiming to solve your acne Vulgaris. But one thing we need to know is that if you suffer from acne continuously you might need something bigger than just a homemade solution. You might keep asking yourself how to get clear skin without spending too much too. I say it’s possible but again that too not if you’re a continuous sufferer. If you are so I highly recommend visiting your dermatologist and sticking to your treatment for at least 3 to 4 months before you see the slightest of changes. Spot treatment methods are available too using something like the much raved tea tree oil. Today I’m mentioning 4 homemade face packs for acne prone skin (But not for those with severe acne).

Lemon and strawberry mask

What you need is a tsp of lemon juice, an egg white, and 1.5 tsp of honey and ½ cup of strawberries. To prepare the mixture, mash the strawberries and mix in with the rest of the mixture and spread it over your face and let it sit for about 15 minutes and wash off with warm water.

Tone with sea salt

I have used this and found results too. For this you need natural sea salt and purified warm water. Let the salt sit in the water until it dissolves then put it into a spray bottle and use it as toner after washing your face. Use this only at night to see faster results.

Acne Cure: Acne.org/ The regimen

Acne Cure: Acne.org/ The regimen

Hey “BD beauties”!

In this post I’m going to tell you about one of the most raved acne solutions in the market today. You would have seen various youtubers rave about this and also read many reviews. It’s the acne.org treatment or also called the regimen. The regimen was started by a guy called Dan who suffered from acne too. It consists of three steps namely cleanser, treatment and moisturizer. I just want to let you all know that I have not personally tried this but have read unusually high amounts of positive reviews and dramatic changes that prove that it has removed acne from people’s lives and I wanted to share this with those of you having same issues so that you can do your own research.

Check out the process and buy them HERE

What I love about the acne.org site is that not only it is a store to get the items but it also has a forum where all members are those who had or have acne currently and they share their reviews on the acne.org treatments and various other acne treatments, face washes, cleansers etc. I found that I have visited this site quite often to read reviews when I want to check if a product is suitable for my acne prone skin.
I personally do not have the need to use this treatment because I have almost totally cured my acne through my dermatologist but I’m pretty sure there are girls out there who say that you have tried everything that are there to treat acne!

Review of the OXY GLOW Liquorice Mud Pack

Hey “BD beauties”!

Today I’m going to review a mud mask that I have been trying for the past 3 weeks and it’s the OXY GLOW Liquorice mud pack that I picked up in my local supermarket. I initially went there searching for the Himalaya neem pack which has so much of great reviews but I didn’t find any there but of course I had to leave buying things I really didn’t plan to and this was one such purchase!

It has 100g of product and costs 500 srilankan rupees which is about $3.5. Also costs INR 130 HERE.

According to the website this seems like an Indian brand and you can buy there products online too. I love clay and mud masks I recently got to know how beneficial they are to acne prone skin and ever since I was in a hunt for good clay masks.

What does the brand say?

Key Ingredients: Liquorice Extract, Mennonite, Bearberry Extract, Grape Extract Its Unique Formula Of Natural Ingredients Refreshes & Rejuvenates Facial Skin By Absorbing Excess Oil & Removing Deep Set Dirt & Impurities

My experience with this product

The initial reaction I had as I opened the lid is the smell. It’s a very disturbing smell for my nose but it can be pleasant for you. The smell does linger throughout the time you have the mask on and even after you remove however it’s very biased as this is just how my nose reacts. While applying it can notice the lovely consistency it has, it’s the perfect texture a mask should have its spreads easily. I tried it with a flat synthetic brush initially but since it took too long I started using my fingers and it worked just fine.

How to get rid of blackheads?

Hey “BD beauties”!

Today I’m coming to you with another post under the category about acne. I genuinely type these posts out top you all because I suffer with acne myself. It’s always an ongoing battle trying out various products and also spending a lot on dermatologists. Before treating your acne you should always know how they are caused and also ways to control acne. Makeup for acne is also something you need to be vigilant on as everything you put on your face will have either a favourable or adverse reaction.

Black heads are another form of pimple which basically has dirt clogged in your pores thus being black in colour. These are kind of hard to control and will keep coming back if the extraction process is done in the wrong way. You need to extract black heads differently on your nose as opposed to the rest of your face.

Using hydrogen peroxide for acne

Hey “BD beauties”!

This is going to be another post on how to reduce acne. If you haven’t checked already read how is acne caused and how to cover acne withmakeup.
In this post I will tell you how to use hydrogen peroxide for acne and tell you about how effective it is.

More on acne

What is hydrogen peroxide?
It’s simple peroxide which is usually used for personal hygiene and first aid at home. You can find a 500ml of this solution for as cheap as $0.60 in drugstores. The main uses are treating wounds, removing stains off clothing, whitening teeth and so on.
What the solution does is basically kills the bacteria around the applied area causing an infection or stain. This is why it usually bubbles when applied on wound or dirty object.

How is Hydrogen peroxide used on Acne?
  • Not many people are aware of it but if your acne is caused due to dirt clogged up in your pores, this solution can definitely help. However, keep in mind that you should use the solution on concentration not more than 3% using something higher is harmful to your skin and can cause burns and extremely dryness and worst cases make your acne condition worse.
  • As it kills bacteria, it’s most likely that your skin will get a little dry so be sure to apply moisturizer afterwards. You can find 3% Hydrogen peroxide in pharmacies and supermarkets for extremely cheap prices.

Grades of hydrogen peroxide
It’s definitely likely that in some places you won’t find this solution as low as 3% in this case DO NOT settle for a higher percentage and use it. I have tried diluting it with water as well but I find its still extremely drying compared to using a 3% solution.
  • 3% hydrogen peroxide is readily available at drugstores which are what you should be using for acne, whitening teeth etc.

What causes Acne?

Hey “BD beauties”!

I’m going to start a small section on my blog dedicated to acne and more about it! I find that this is a common issue with young people these days and as much you should know to cover it up with the magic of makeup, (Tips on applying makeup for Acne prone skin) you should be ready to treat it at the same time.
So this post is going to be about how acne occurs.

Source

Acne occurs when your glands overproduce the oil. Of course oil or ‘sebum’ is needed to keep your skin hydrated and supple but overproduce leads to clogged pores!
The condition worsens when these clogged pores are infected by the bacteria living on your skin thus making the acne area red, bumpy and sore these also develop into worse forms of acne such as cysts.

Common causes of acne (proved)
  • Acne is most common among teenagers or once a person reaches puberty. The main reason connects back to the first point I told about over producing oil as a person during puberty produce the most amount of oil due to hormonal changes. This tends to usually slow down as he/ she approaches adulthood (20- 25 years).

  • Pregnancy cause acne as there is a huge change in the hormones taking place.

  • Birth control pill contribute to causing acne as the amend the hormonal cycles and thus making you create more oil.
