Hey “BD beauties”!

This is going to be a review of the Revlon matte lipstick in shade 009 Fabulous Fig which I bought months ago but haven’t experimented with yet until recently. I got this off of eBay assuming that it would be kind of like a rosy shade but it was more of a maroon. Read on to know what I think about this product!

What does Revlon say about this product?

Creamy formula glides onto lips for kissably soft, matte-finish lips. Matte Lipstick by Revlon features conditioners that protect your lips from over-drying. 

My experience with this product

I have always heard great things about Revlon’s lip products and I was pretty much confident that it would work for me. I really love matte lipstick formulas instead of glossy and frosty ones and this definitely satisfies one who likes that. Frankly it is abit drying on the lips just like most matte formulas and you require good exfoliation and a lip balm.

The scent of the lipstick reminds me of crayons but a little toned down version of those which I don’t mind at all. The packaging is really well made and sturdy and I like how the top of the lid is transparent revealing the bullet. The bullet doesn’t break off like the NYX round lipstick and is very sturdy even in the most humid days around where I live.

The shade Fabulous Fig is a maroon shade great for the fall. You can sheer down this shade using concealer or just dab it with your fingers for a sheer look. The lipstick wears for about 5 to 6 hours because it’s less creamy and has a matte finish.

What’s great about the Revlon matte lipstick in shade 009 Fabulous Fig?

• Doesn’t smell funky

What’s not so great about the Revlon matte lipstick in shade 009 Fabulous Fig?

• The shade fabulous fig is a dark maroon best for only the fall season.
• Abit drying on the lips

Overall verdict

I love the formula of this lipstick so I’m definitely going to try a few other shades but as for this particular one, it’s not my most favourite. A lip balm is necessary before using this and if you have wrinkled lips or dried lips, this wouldn’t e the most flattering.
