How to get rid of dark lips?

Hey “BD beauties”!

I was thinking about some sort on inspiration to write posts and i figured that I write about a few skin conditions that women in Asian face a lot! That’s pigmented lips. Pigmented lips are usually darker on the upper lip or darker on the edges of the lips. This can e annoying especially when you’re trying to apply lipstick and the dark lips to not show it true to colour! I will definitely do a lip makeup routine in the near future but before that i figured i give you a few tips and also DIY lip masks to try in the comfort of your homes!

Tips

  • If you wear lipstick religiously almost every day, this is for you. Make sure you purchase your lipsticks from a trusted brand. Revlon has wonderful lipsticks, if you’re feeling fancy, invest in Mac! Always avoid those cheap unbranded lipsticks which have strong chemicals that are ad for your skin. It makes sense right? The cheaper the product, the lower quality materials they use to produce it! Also bear in mind the shelf life of the lipsticks, you should always toss away the expired ones as this would be adding fuel to make your lips even more pigmented!
  • Try changing your habits! High intake of caffeine that’s tea and coffee, smoking also contribute to pigmented lips! Since these are habitual, the pigmentation cannot e removed quickly! Try changing these habits one by one; instead consume fresh fruit drinks etc.

Makeup 101: Eye shadow palettes for a beginner

Hey “BD beauties”!

I’m coming to you today with another post part of the Makeup 101 segment i started recently! You can read the previous post of this segment HERE. I figured one of the things beginners suffer with when starting off with makeup is trying to get the right products. With all these makeup items in the market, it can be pretty overwhelming! I would recommend you purchasing eye shadow palettes when you start out as they are the most cost effective makeup products with variety!

Makeup 101: Eye shadow palettes for a beginner
Even with eye shadow palettes, you can see many! The brands I would recommend are BH cosmetics and Coastal scents. Bothe put out almost identical palettes with very similar quality. If you like in the US or Europe, you might find this cheap. However, if you’re like me and live in Asia I would suggest you purchase these off of ebay or other Asian based companies like tmart.com. I find these way cheaper than coastal scents or BH cosmetics and they provide the same products without a brand name.
The palette I would recommend you get is the 168 eyeshadow palette (REVIEW HERE). If you’re a huge lover of neutral shades, I would also recommend the 28 neutral eyeshadow palette (REVIEW HERE).

How to get rid of Hyper pigmentation?

Hey “BD beauties”!

In this post I thought of writing about an important skin condition that can occur due to genetics, hormonal changes or acne scarring. That’s hyper pigmentation. If you’re suffering with this and tried all the creams and lotions that claim to get rid of this, then you have to try these. I myself had hyper pigmentation and for me it was pretty sudden I had tried one of these solutions to get rid of mine as well. However, keep in mind that you must try these as soon as they occur, for mature hyper pigmentation, its best to consult a dermatologist.

How to get rid of Hyper pigmentation?

Olive oil: this is what I have tried and worked well! I had continuously applied olive oil on the affected areas for about a month and a half before seeing results. When applying, be sure to massage it in rather than just slapping it on!

Lemons: they are famous for acne scars and so are they for hyper pigmentation! The reason why you might think that it doesn’t work or feel so if you have already tried, is because it takes time! Natural remedies take almost 2 to 3 months to show results so you need to be patient and be prepared to wait. Before applying, roll the lemon on the counter top to break down the juices.

My most used Makeup brushes

Hey “BD beauties”!

This post is going to be about my most used brushes and why I use them a lot! It’s going to gone in line with the type of rush rather than brand price etc. this way you can purchase brushes by the type rather than spending tons of money on brands.

My most used Makeup brushes

I remember the day I started using makeup brushes after using those sponge applicators! Trust me I felt like an idiot that I hadn’t started using them earlier. Makeup brushes are tools that make your skill of makeup perfect. Without the tools you cannot get a desired look or a clean outcome as well. Throughout the years, I have realised that there are a few brushes that I keep going towards a lot compared to others.

Flat top buffer brush

My most used Makeup brushes

This is the only type of rush I have just recently started using but it’s a total must have! If you’re a girl who loves full coverage foundation, this type of brush do it for you! The flat top buffer brush has bristles that are tightly packed thus applying the foundation in a thicker layer rather than being applied from a stippling brush. I got my brush off of eBay. I will definitely review this product soon

Ways to prevent wrinkles

Hey “BD  beauties”!

Wrinkles are a great concern among women these days’ even younger ladies. This is a fair worry as many of the products we use and environment we are exposed causes pre mature ageing. I feel that it’s important for young ladies to understand and get educated about how to prevent this beforehand rather than worrying about it afterwards.

The few but most effective ways by which you could prevent wrinkles are:
  • Avoid the sun as much as possible: sun is documented to be the biggest cause for wrinkles and also skin cancer. So be sure to wear sun screen religiously if you do get the need to face the sun!

Celebrity FOTD: Sonakshi sinha

Hey “BD beauties”!

One of my favourite actors in this era in bollywood is sonakshi sinha and what’s most inspiring about her is her weight loss! Anyhow this post isn’t about her weight loss but about the makeup she had on for this particular event. Looks like she has gone natural for this look and it surely does compliment her well. She has just a hint of warm brown all over her lids and crease and looks like she hasn’t used fake lashes as well instead coated her natural lashes will mascara. The one thing i love about this particular look is the lipstick she has used. It looks like a rosy nude and looks really natural. In her overall look, I see the most amount of colour on her cheeks which is way better than if she had opted for an earthy toned blush.

Celebrity FOTD: Anushka sharma at nivea's 100 years event

Hey "BD beauties"!

Celebrity FOTD: Anushka sharma at nivea's 100 years event

This is yet another celebrity FOTD and its Anushka Sharma today! If you ladies didn’t know, nivea recently celebrated their 100 years anniversary of the brand and anushka being the Indian brand ambassador, was present for a press meet with this gorgeous blue flowy dress. Obviously the topic is makeup so let’s look over what she had on. The overall look was an easy going natural look with orange eye shadow on her lids and the attention given to her upper and lower lashes in the most subtle yet giving a fresh touch. She seems to have false lashes on but since there is not much eyeliner, I believe she has a pair with an invisible and thus making it trick you as though they are natural!

How to make your makeup last longer?

Hey BD beauties!

1  Have you ever had issues where you makeup would almost melt away throughout the day? If you’re at an event and you just wished your blush or lipstick would stay put? Well this post is all about making your makeup last longer and look almost fresh as if you just applied it!

2 If you have straight short lashes like me -_- then this tip would definitely help you! Heat your lash curler with a low dryer for about 7 seconds or until you know it’s warm enough and then uses it to curl your lashes at the roots and mid length. This obviously acts like a hair curling iron for your hair and keeps the curl in place for long hours. Applying water proof mascara over it will set the curl further and also protect it from moisture!

You can find these 12 pieces and 32 pieces makeup brush sets almost everywhere and surprisingly the quality isn’t that bad for a beginner. But if you want to buy the rushes separately, let me tell you which brushes are essential and which could also multi task :)
