Revlon Luxurious Color smokey crayon in Black Smoke Review, Swatches and Photos

Hey “BD beauties”!

This is going to be a review of a product that I have been using as a base for my darker eye looks lately. It’s the Revlon luxurious colour Smokey crayon in Black smoke. It has all the characteristics that need to be present in a good base and works great for your dramatic Smokey eyes.

What does Revlon say?

Smoky liner and eye shadow. Get a smoky eye effect with creamy rich color

My experience with this product

I always love to have a matte black cream base before doing any dark Smokey eyes to create a nice depth to the look and I find that not all gel liners look blue-ish in pictures. This crayon from Revlon stays true to colour and doesn’t sheer out too much.

The product isn’t too creamy to the extent that it creases on the lid. It’s not too drying as well. It blends in effortlessly but you need to work with it soon since it sets in a matter of seconds. I find that this crayon works great to smoke out my lower lash line too since it’s not too creamy us I always make sure to top it with a matte black eye shadow.

The packaging of this product is simple, sleek and practical and doesn’t give you the pain of sharpening. It also has a sharper that comes with it to point out the tip which can be handy when you’re applying this as your upper liner.

I’m really amazed by the longevity of this product. I don’t have oily lids and this stays on put until I remove it off. By the way talking about removing it, I have to tell you that you might need some hardcore eye makeup remover preferably oil based to get this off. It’s a fight trust me.

What’s great about the Revlon luxurious colour Smokey crayon in Black smoke?

  • Very pigmented
  • Doesn’t crease
  • Long lasting
  • Blends well (if you blend quick)
  • Retractable format

What’s not so great about the Revlon luxurious colour Smokey crayon in Black smoke?

  • You need to work with it pretty quickly to avoid it setting too soon.
Overall verdict

I think it’s a good must have if you love doing dramatic dark eye looks, it amps up your look and gives you a nice depth and makes your eye shadows stand out lot more and smokier.
