Review and swatches: NARS powder blush in 'super orgasm'

Hey “BD beauties”!

I recently did a mini review of asos HERE. And in that i mentioned a NARS blush in ‘super orgasm’ which is a peachy pink blush with a golden sheen and also golden glitters. I do love this blush a lot but is it worth the money your payinf for it? Read on to know more!

What’s does NARS say about this product?

The ultimate authority in blush, NARS offers the industry's most iconic shades for cheeks. Natural, healthy-looking color that immediately enlivens the complexion. A light application for even the highest-intensity hues delivers a natural-looking flush.
  • Silky texture in matte and shimmering shades.
  • Micronized powder ensures soft, blendable application.
  • Iconic NARS shades.
Costs $29 for 4.8g of products

My experience with this product

Of course my expectations were high when trying out a product from the blush line from NARS as they are NARS’s award winning criteria. I couldn’t get my hands on orgasm which is the most hyped but super orgasm isn’t a miss. I got this blush as part of NARS Love thrill collection which comes with a lip pencil and also a lipstick which I’ll review at a later date.

The consistency of this formulation is velvet like and glides on really smooth on the cheeks. If you have warm undertones, it’s even better as this has a lovely golden sheen to it which may not give you a purpose to use a highlighter. However this is more of a light blush so it wouldn’t show on a medium to darker skin tone. I have medium skin tone but I need to apply it about thrice to show up bright.
One thing which I find useless in this blush are the golden glitters. I don’t understand how chunky glitters would look attractive on anyone but this isn’t a huge issue as I find that tapping the brush once removes all the glitters off!

It’s no joke when I read people complaining about how dusty and dirt NARS’s packaging can get. Frankly I love elf’s studio blush packaging way better compared to the velvet like texture on this. If you have a makeup stash where you just have all your products in one place, it will get messy. However the packaging is really sturdy and doesn’t open up if your travelling with it. It closes with a hard satisfying snap and at the same time it’s stiff to open up too. i love the mirror in the packaging its really handy for whatever reason you may want one.

Im pretty impressed with the staying power too. if you have a good foundation, your blush will last long. However, if you’re using it on your bare skin it wouldn’t be as effective unless you use a face primer.

What’s great about this product?
  • Great consistency
  • Long wearing
  • Sturdy packaging

What’s not so great about of this product?
  • Packaging gets dirty easily
  • Has chunky glitters

Overall verdict

I think these blushes are worth the 29 dollars you pay for it, if you love blushes this is a great investments. The packaging looks really premium too. make sure you go for darker blushes if you have darker complexion as that’s what will show up. A dupe for this blush is Jordana’s blush in coral sandy beach which is the same blush with the exception of the chunky glitters. you can read the review of that HERE
