I had never tried felt tip liners before and wanted to give
it a go so this was one that i got recently for review from gvsavings1. After using this
liner, I can say that felt tip liners are not for me however, the quality of
this particular one is pretty good. Read on to know my review!
Costs $5 for 1.1ml of product
What does L.A Girl say about this product?
The Fineline fine-tip liner creates a thin,
precise line in just one stroke! Both pens are water-based and have a soft
flexible tip for precision and control while delivering the right amount of
color.
My experience with this product
This is my second product from L.A girl and was very much
impressed with it concerning it was only 5 bucks.
Pigmentation: it’s extremely pigmented for a felt tip liner
especially as it hasn’t been long since I got it. The pigmentation would probably
fade away once you use the product more often.
The product dries off pretty quickly but does need sometime
to completely set and be as pigmented as you apply. The scent of the felt liner
is very identical to the felt tip liners you use as stationary which makes me
wonder.
The packaging is sleek and the cap shuts well with a click
thus you know that you actually have closed it without getting it dried up. The
felt tip isn’t the stiff type, it a more flexible form which maybe a preference
for some of you all but if you expecting a stiff one for precise thin lines,
this might be hard to work with. The best use I can get out of this product is
for drawing the flick in my winged liners but not much help with drawing a lid
on my lids.
Once applied the liner stays pigmented for about 3 hours
before starting to wear off. However, using a good eyelids primer will help
with the longevity.
The product is water based so if you have extremely oily
lids which don’t get controlled with primer, this wouldn’t be the right product
for you.
What’s great about this product?
- Pigmented colour
- Sleek packaging
- Great pricing
- Flexible tip (matter of preference)
What’s not so great?
- Not waterproof
- Staying power isn’t the best
Overall verdict
My personal preferences are brush applicators for liner like
the elf liquid liner which is my Holy Grail product. However if you like felt
tip liners in general this wouldn’t be a waste. However, keep in mind that this
isn’t a stiff tip and that it isn’t waterproof. I would repurchase this but i
will use it up by using it for my winged liner flick or even the flick in the
inner corners of the eyes in Arabic eye looks!
Have you tried any felt tip liner? What are your thoughts on
them?
