Tutorial: Doll inspired eye look

Hey “BD beauties”!

I was just playing around with my makeup the other day and was inspired to create a doll like look! I had these lashes from eBay hanging around for a long time now and wanted to try out a look with it so it was the perfect time. Pink eye shadow is one shade that’s hard to pull off for south Asian skin tones so this will also show you how you can make them wearable! J Its great if you have a palette with a variety of colours otherwise use what you have. In today’s look I’m using my 168 eyeshadow palette and 120 shimmer palette both from tmart.com.

What you need

The eye shadows you need

So let’s get started!

Step 1
Prep your lids for shadows. Use an eye shadow primer since the colours are pretty bright. I would recommend you use a white shadow base when you use bright shades as it makes them pop. On top of your base, apply a shimmer base.

Step 2
Apply a matte pink eyeshadow all over your lid. This is optional but i like to later shimmer shades over matte making the colour more vibrant.

Step 3
On top of that matte shade, apply the shimmery pink after foiling them. Foiling again makes shades look better.

Step 4
Trace the outer V of your eyes with a black pencil liner. Make sure your pencil isn’t too blunt since you need the line on the outer corners only.
Step 5
Blend out the black liner with a shimmery black shadow. I’m using a crease brush to keep the colour concentrated to an area. The black shade when applied over pink makes the black look like purple.

Step 6
Blend away the harsh edges with a matte brown eye shadow. The browns and blacks used in this look make the look more wearable.

Step 7
Highlight the brow bone with a shimmery white or champagne shade.

Step 8
Apply the same shimmery shade in the inner corners of your eye. This makes the eye look awake.

Step 9
Now the eye shadows are done. You can make the look more doll like by applying white or nude eye liner in your water line. This gives the appearance of bigger eyes.

Step 10
Make a winged liner. In this look, i have made my wing slightly thicker at the ends. You can make it thin if your eyes are smaller.

Step 11
Apply mascara and falsies! The false lashes I have used are very dramatic and doll like. You can skip lashes if you want to tone down the look.

Step 12
Touch up the liner on the lash band and that’s it! That’s the doll like look for you.

Have fun doing this look!
