Hope you all are having a great week and hope you have already entered for my ongoing NYX nail polish set giveaway which is ending on the 30th of may 2013. Now for today’s review, I wanted to choose the Stila in the garden eye shadow palette which is a wonderful palettes inspired by elements in your garden such as the greens of the grass and moss, colours of the flowers etc. the names are inspired by them too! I have played with this palette for about a week now and I’m fit for writing my views about it!

This palette costs $39 on Stilas online store.

My experience with this product

This is one of my first high end makeup palettes and was definitely expecting a lot from this. I have to appreciate stila on the shade choices thrown in here. There is a great selection of neutrals with colourful options too. The palette is great to pull off both a day look as well as a night look which makes it a great travel palette too! One of my favourite shades in this palette is the one named freesia which is a royal blue shade with blue shimmers in it. I find this shade really flattering on hazel and brown eyes.

Talking about quality, I have to give it a thumbs up! I have tried all the shades and they work well! With a primer on, you do not have to worry about creasing even if you have oily lids. There is absolutely no fallout whatsoever, and the blendaility of the shades is great. One thing i loved about this is that it came with a waterproof smudge stick in the shade starfish which is a lovely green which gold shimmers and guys this thing is real waterproof, i will review it separately in the near future!

The packaging of this palette is not the best though. the palette shuts with a magnetic touch but its not the strongest to make it safe for travel unless you wrap it with something secure which is a downfall of this product if you’re considering it for travel purposes. As a finishing touch, stila has placed a quote on the inside flap of the palette which is always nice. The palette also comes with a tutorial pamphlet telling you about various looks you can create for day and night which is always great for beginners.

What’s great about this product?
  • Pigmented shades
  • Great variation for day and night
  • Good price for value
  • Long lasting shades

What’s not so great?
  • Bad packaging

Overall verdict

I love this palette with all what it has to offer but i only which it was packaged sturdy to make is great for travel for makeup lovers including makeup artists. I feel like stila is a brand who have priced their products really well for such great quality products which is pretty similar to the quality of benefit, too faced etc. this isn’t a good option for travellers because of its not so sturdy packaging but other than that great product to have!

Do you own anything from Stila? Do you like the brand?
