Hey “BD beauties”!
Makeup 101: Guidelines to a beginners eye look |
I haven’t done a makeup 101 post in a while now so here you
go. As you know posts under this tag ‘Makeup 101’ are those written for ladies
who are just beginning with makeup. And knowing basics is always important to
build up your skills! This post is going to e rules for eye makeup. It’s true
that you can use eye shadows the way you want but there are basic guidelines. So
this post will go with a step by step guideline.
Let’s begin!
Step 1
Prime your lids. A primer is important to keep your eye
makeup vibrant and stay long. You can read about primers HERE.

Step 2
Use a matte or satin eye shadow of a shade a shade lighter
than your skin tone to ‘Highlight’ your brow bone. This step is done to lift
your brows giving a youthful fresh look. You can also place the same shade in
your inner tear duct.

Step 3
Apply a shimmery champagne shade all over your lids. Using a
lighter shade like ivory or gold, will makeup eyes look bigger and awake.

Step 4
Contour the crease with a matte brown shade darker than your
skin tone. ‘Contouring’ is done to create depth to your eyes as your natural crease
maybe lost with all the colour you have already put.

Step 5
Define the outer V. The outer V is the outer edge of your
eye lids. Trace a V with a black shadow and lend it slightly diffusing it.

Step 6
Apply liner and mascara. I drew a cat liner for this look
but you can draw it as thin or thick as you want. I have a post about how to
draw a cat liner HERE.

That’s it girls. These are just basics in an eye look. I have
created a natural everyday look with the basics but you can apply this with any
shade of your choice. These are the rules to follow when you want to play it
safe. You will be more confident to experiment the further you practice looks.
Again these aren’t necessarily ‘RULES’ which make an eye
makeup right. Rather just guidelines. Hope this helped my readers who are
beginning!
