Hey “BD beauties”!

This is going to be a review of one of the latest releases from Revlon which is the Revlon colorburst lacquer balm in the shade ‘tease’ ($8.99). The just bitten kissable balm stains were a great hit and Revlon’s colorburst matte and lacquer range is too. This post will include review, swatch and lots of pictures! You can read my review of the Revlon colorburst matte balm in shade unapologethic HERE.

What does Revlon say about this product?

Revlon ColorBurst Lacquer Balm offers high shine with balm-like moisture. Infused with a Triple Butter Complex of Shea, Mango and Coconut Butter. A retractable chubby crayon, no sharpener required.

My experience with this product

Many people who had tried both matte and lacquer versions and have mostly liked the matte version because it’s more opaque. I totally have to agree with this fact which means that the lacquer version doesn’t have the pigmentation you would expect. If you have extremely pigmented lips you would enjoy this but you would like the matte balms. This product also has chunky glitters in them which leave your lips with glitters once the colour wears off.

The great benefit of this is that these are really moisturising on the lips so it would be perfect if you have dried lips. The scent that this has is very similar to the matte balms which is a peppermint scent it isn’t harsh so you could definitely wear it if you’re not a fan of it.
The packaging has lots of similarities to the matte balm except for the fact that the finish of the tube is a shiny finish to denote that it’s a lacquer.

The Revlon colorburst lacquer balm doesn’t wear too long on my lips. It wears for a maximum of 3 hours before I need reapplication and to be honest I kind of feel this heavy on my lips too. The shade tease is a lovely burnt orange it’s not too bright and looks lovely on any skin tone or undertone.

What’s great about the Revlon colorburst lacquer balm in shade tease?

  • Versatile shade
  • Very moisturising
  • Colour payoff isn’t bad
  • Lovely packaging
  • No sharpening needed

What’s not so great about the Revlon colorburst lacquer balm in shade tease?

  • Has chunky glitters
  • Doesn’t wear long
  • Feels heavy on the lips
  • Not extremely pigmented

Overall verdict

If you are to choose between the matte balms and lacquer I highly recommend the matte finishes. The matte ones are not drying at all. They are moisturising enough if you have dried lips and caters to all the issues with the lacquer balms. If you like a particular shade in the lacquer range it wouldn’t be wrong to buy it.
