I love highlighters and this one is a little bit special since it is quite a good deal. The elf healthy glow bronzing powder is marketed as a bronzer as the name suggests but this particular shade ‘Luminance’ is a perfect powder highlighter for fair to medium skin tones. Other shades like warm tan and sun kissed are perfect for darker complexions. Read on to know my views on this product.

A touch of sunshine to warm up every complexion with its soft and silky texture for a beautiful and natural glow.

My experience with this product

I’m always in the hunt for a great highlighter to match and blend in with my medium skin tone. So far the NARS Albatross highlighter has been great for me and I have to say this elf one has been getting into my routine too. The packaging of this is really cheap and you can notice it when you look around and below the compact which makes it vulnerable to breakage when you travel but that’s what you would get for the price (£1.50) right?

Surprisingly one thing I found to be really great for the price is the texture of this. It isn’t chalky as I expected. The texture is way better than the elf studio blush in gotta glow which is in elf’s £3 line and is a dupe for NARS Albatross. It applies evenly and blends it seamlessly with the foundation you’re wearing. It’s also amazing that the product doesn’t have huge chunks of glitter but has a good amount of shine. It’s also not too frosty which makes this highlighter great for everyday wear with a simple makeup look.

Also other things a great with this, I find that it lacks at the wear time department. It doesn’t stay on for more than 3 hours or so which makes it a need for you to touch up and now we can agree that we need to carry our face powders to touch up but carrying a highlighter isn’t too practical for me.

The product has a light powdery smell and if that kind of scent gives you a headache don’t worry it’s too faint to realise.

The shade Luminance is the lightest off the shade range which is why it’s a great highlighter for fair to medium skin tones. If you’re darker than say an NC42 from Mac I suggest you pick a darker shade.

Packaging is cheap which makes it prone to break easily

Overall verdict

Although it doesn’t wear long as I would love it to, I’m really amazed that I got a great highlighter for such cheap that isn’t chalky and hasn’t got chunky glitters that make you a disco ball. I’m really amazed with this product and I realise that product like these at such great prices is what makes Elf a consumer appreciated cosmetic brand.
