Maybelline Eyestudio in 10 Blue freeze Review, Swatches and Photos

Hey “BD beauties”!

This is my first review after a couple of days of break I took for my exams and since I’m done with that now, it’s back to blogging. The Maybelline eye studio line has been pretty famous around various drugstores and this line has been really popular among beginners and to those who love bargains. The best eye shadow palettes need to have a good amount of pigmentation, no fall out and longevity and I find that this particular trio does it well. This is going to be a review and swatches of the Maybelline eye studio trio in the shade blue freeze.

My experience with this product

The trio blue freeze has the perfect shades for a blue Smokey eye with the right amount of deep shades aswell as the bright ones. The consistency of these eye shadows is smooth and since these are crème to powder type of eye shadows, they work well. The texture is super smooth and velvet- like and glides onto the lids evenly. I have tried using this with both my fingers and a brush and I find that you transfer more colour when using a synthetic eye shadow brush. Using a finger warms up the product but you end up having most of the colour onto your fingers.

The product doesn’t have any kind of funky scent to it which is a good thing for me personally since fragranced products can irritate your eyes. This product is also safe for contact lenses wearers. Being a cream eye shadow, it isn’t oily whatsoever. It sets to a powder form and stays put for about 4- 5 hours without any primer. If you have oily lids the lasting power can be maintained with a good quality eye shadow primer (Elf $1 eyelid primer).

I love the simple sleek packaging of the Maybelline eye studio line. They are simple and sturdy and easy to travel with. This particular tri doesn’t come with any applicators if you were wondering.

The shades (from Left to right)

Shade no.1: Blue based silver with silver shimmer
Shade no.2: deep shimmery royal blue.
Shade no.3: mid tone grey with silver sheen.

What’s great about Maybelline eye studio in blue freeze?

  • Great for oily lids
  • Lasts long
  • Sets to a powder finish
  • Has complementing shades
  • Perfect for contact lens wearers
  • Has a sturdy packaging.

What’s not so great about Maybelline eye studio in blue freeze?

  • Not something you would grab often

Overall verdict

I think it’s a fun product to your vanity. Using a cream shadow is an extra step in your beauty routine but can add to the vibrancy of your eye shadows. It could e worn by itself as a quick makeup look but this will only last if you have normal to dry lids.

Rating: 3.5/5
