Today’s review is going to be of the Maybelline colorsensational lipstick in ‘plaza pink’ which i hauled HERE. I would describe this shade as a mauve pink shade which could be a nude shade for many ladies! As we all know how well Maybelline delivers their products at great prices, the colorsensational line is definitely an affordable price to start with.

Apply your lipcolor by starting in the center of your upper lip. Work from the center to the outer edges of your lip, following the contours of your mouth. Then glide across the entire bottom lip.

My experience with this product

Frankly, this is my first Maybelline lipstick and i didn’t know much to expect anything. However, i would say I was very much impressed! This lipstick shade did look slightly rosier than in person so not a great choice on colour.

Pigmentation: this is a highly pigmented lipstick. It isn’t too thick and heavy or light and sheer i would say the perfect consistency that a lipstick should have. However, I do put on two coats and follow my lipstick routine which i talked about HERE.

Formulation: the formulation on this product is great and quite moisturizing in fact your lips do feel moisturized for quite some time after application. However, you should also keep in mind to exfoliate your lips as this doesn’t look flattering on chapped lipstick since it’s a lighter shade.

The shade doesn’t bleed out of your lip contours as well. The lipstick glides on smooth without being dry.

Scent: the scent is supposed to be a vanilla scent, but it’s not my favourite type. It smells more artificial scent of vanilla rather than the real deal. But many of you may like it too. The scent is pretty strong as you apply it and fades away slightly afterwards.

Packaging: I was most excited about the packaging more than any criteria of this product. I love the packaging on these lipsticks and also adore how they have cap of the lipstick coloured to which shade group the lipstick belongs!. The lipstick has an overall sturdy packaging and very sleek not bulky with unwanted details making it annoying to store.

Staying power: this is the only downfall to this lipstick and I guess it would apply to most lipsticks anyway is that the staying power is about 3 hours maximum if you drink, eat, etc however, throughout the years i have realised that this is pretty common with any lipstick may it be drugstore or high-end. I do follow my lip routine that marked this lipstick stay on for at least 5 hours before I have to reapply.

Overall verdict

I would recommend any of you trying out this lipstick. It has all the qualities you would expect in a lipstick although the staying power isn’t the best, I would fuss about it too much as I’m getting lot of other good qualities about it. Have you tried lipsticks from this range? I ordered another shade called ‘my mahagony’ online which many people say is a great nude for medium skin tones so excited for that to arrive! :D
